Step 2: Tickets, pricing, teams and waves

Setting up sub-events, price rises, how much of the Race Space fee to absorb, club discounts, team entries and waved starts.

Step 2 is where you set up ticket types and pricing. Many of the fields here are conditional, which means new fields appear as you add things like sub-events or team races.

Sub-events

Use the Add Sub-Event field to specify how many sub-events your event has. These are usually different distances or races within the same event. As you add each one, additional fields for it appear on the right-hand side underneath Sub-Event One.

Pricing and price rises

Set your prices within each sub-event. To add automated price rises, use the red + button in the pricing section of that sub-event.

How much of the fee you absorb

The Fee Structure slider controls how much of the Race Space transaction fee is passed on to your entrants rather than absorbed into your ticket price. Most events pass on 100% of the fee.

Club affiliation discounts

Use the Club Affiliation section to offer discounts to club-affiliated participants, and to set what level of authentication you require from them.

Teams and relays

Tick Team or Relay in the Entry Type field and new fields appear on the left-hand side for setting team parameters.

Waved starts

You can break a sub-event's start times down into waves. For each wave, specify the desired size and the maximum capacity. Those two numbers are what the wave algorithm uses to sort participants closer to event day.

There is also an Even out with other waves checkbox. Ticking it hides a wave from the entry form when it gets too full compared with the others, which pushes participants towards a less full wave and keeps your start times balanced.
