How do I create an organiser account?

The two stages of organiser account setup, what information each needs, and which details lock once you publish an event.

You need an organiser account before you can set up or publish an event on Race Space. There are two stages. Quick Set-Up gives you the minimum needed to start building events. Full Set-Up gives you everything needed to publish them and get paid.

Quick Set-Up: what you need to start building

  1. Hover over the Race Directors button in the menu bar at the top of the screen and select Setup Organiser Profilefrom the dropdown.

  2. If you are not signed in, you will be prompted to register or log in to a Race Space user account.

  3. Enter the following three details:

    • Currency. What you charge participants in, and what Race Space transfers to you.

    • Organisation Country. Where your organisation is based. This controls payout, tax and any Know Your Customer (KYC) checks. Your chosen currency must be common in that region, so any country that does not match is filtered out of the list automatically.

    • Trading Name. The name you prefer to be known as, which is not necessarily your legal company name. Participants see this name and it defines your URL structure.

  4. Select Create profile & create event.

You can now build events, but not publish them. To publish, select Create profile & go to profile instead and complete Full Set-Up.

Full Set-Up: what you need to publish

  1. Hover over Race Directors and select Setup Organiser Profile.

  2. Complete the three Quick Set-Up fields and select Create profile & go to profile.

  3. The left-hand blue Core Information section holds Currency, Organisation Country and Trading Name. You can change these freely until you publish your first event.

  4. Drag and drop your logo into the same section. It appears across your events, ticketing and receipts. Use a square or circular image, otherwise it will be cropped.

  5. Click anywhere in the right-hand grey Organisation Information section and complete:

    • Organisation Type. Either Registered Company or Individual.

    • Registered Company Information. If you chose Registered Company, enter your Legal Company Name, Company Registration ID and Address.

    • Tax Information. State whether your organisation is tax registered. If you complete this, tax information appears on every participant receipt.

    • Payout Type. Either Race Space Connect, where Race Space handles payment processing, or Stripe Connect, where you connect your own Stripe account and Stripe handles it.

    • Payout Information. For Stripe Connect, click the Stripe Connect button and Stripe will link your account. For Race Space Connect, enter your bank account details, which vary by country.

    • Pay-In Information. Optionally add card details so refunds can still be processed when Race Space is not holding enough of your money. If no default card is saved and there is not enough on your account, the refund will fail.

  6. Select Save Changes in the top right of the grey section.

What locks when you publish

Two things become fixed once your first event is published and can only be changed by contacting Race Space: Currency, Organisation Country and Trading Name in Core Information, and your Payout Type. It is worth getting these right before you publish rather than after.
