How do instalment plans work?

Paying for your entry in monthly instalments, the processing fee, and what happens if a payment fails.

Some events let you pay in instalments rather than all at once. You pay a deposit, then equal monthly instalments. Please note that depending on the minimum amount of the deposit that the organiser has set the first payment might differ from the remaining instalment payments.

How the payments are taken

Automatically, on the same day of each month as your original purchase, from the same card.

The fee

There is an additional processing fee of 1.5% + 50p on each instalment. Fewer instalments means fewer fees, so if you can pay in larger amounts you will pay less overall. You may be able to reduce the number of instalments.

How many instalments you get

The event organiser sets this. Whatever the number, the final instalment is always taken at least 30 days before the event.

If a payment fails

Both you and the event organiser are notified. Update your card and another attempt is made automatically. If the entry is never paid in full, the organiser may remove your entry from the event, so it is worth dealing with quickly.

Charity donations

Any charity donation in your basket is paid up front rather than split across the instalments.

XCover

If you opt for registration fee protection via XCover this will be an upfront payment and not payable via instalments.

Merchandise Items

Merchandise item purchases are also split across the instalments.
